Memory: Empire Stadium, Vancouver

I will never forget seeing The Beatles live at the Empire Stadium, Vancouver, B.C. August, 1964. Nor will I forget how the concert lasted only 27 minutes The screaming crowd had broken through the security and the barriers and had swarmed the stage. John, Paul, George and Ringo simply dropped their guitars and drumsticks and flew offstage - those boys were terrified! Oh yes, I was only 12 at the time and watched all this from the safety of the stands, seated beside my grandmother who, at 61, was just as much a Beatles fan as me and that screaming crowd. Paul was both hers and my favourite (everyone had a favourite). : )
