Memory: I Want To Hold Your Hand

My first memory of The Beatles is when they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show February 9, 1964. In our home we only got 3 channels and one was out of Washington State KVOS, in black and white. My mom was saying all day Sunday we had to have our supper and chores done by 7 pm, because The Beatles were coming on; I had never heard of them. My older cousin Wendy was staying with us and I remember my mom telling her it was OK if she screamed when they were on. They touched a chord in me the first time I saw them, and "I want to hold your hand" cemented a lifelong love affair with The Beatles. I saw them live at Empire Stadium Vancouver Canada on August 22, 1964, something I will never forget.
