Memory: Here Comes The Sun

I wrote a music column for my high school newspaper... and couldn't wait for each new Beatles single to be released! I lived in Saint John, New Brunswick at the time...not the most with it town in Canada. So I used to tune in my transistor radio to WINS station in New York for all the latest Beatles news from DJ Murray the K. He used to announce when an album cut was made into a single..and I always had the news way ahead of anyone else in highschool. Plus, my mom was a Brit war bride so all of our English relatives would send me the latest Beatles magazines from England. I loved them in 1965 and I still love them today. I listened to their albums for hours..and to this day my favorite song is Hear Comes the Sun. The day Lennon was shot...the Sun set, but only for awhile. The Beatles music will always make the world a sunnier and brighter place. There has been nothing like it since. It marked a generation..and also a time in Britain when everyone felt a bigger part of the world order than usual. The British Invastion was, as they said back then, "The gear". It was great to see America fall...it was a Revolution!
