Memory: Love Me Do

I still vividly remember the first time I heard the Beatles,I was 15 (now 60)and attending an nightschool art class in our school St Gregory's in Glasgow probably October 62. I was with two friends Donny and Gerry  (who went on to play bass in a band Studio 6 so it obviously had a big effect on his life also!)we used to take a small transistor radio and listen to Radio Luxemburg during the class (the teacher was quite lax)struggling to hear as the signal faded in and out with all the interference and static! Suddenly this record came on which for its time sounded so much different from anything else which usually got airplay. Loved the harmonica and the vocals we struggled to hear who this was and when the dj says that was a new group called The Beatles we thought they were an American group probably due to the harmonica as Bruce Channel had recently had a hit with Hey Baby which had much the same harmonica sound. Anways from that moment I was hooked and the bands basically never been out my life and my childrens lives even into their adulthood!
