Plant! at Coed Bryn Oer

Bilingual Website Design & Development:
Educational Website for Coed Bryn Oer

Savage and Gray Design, Cardiff were invited to design and develop a bilingual CMS interactive educational website for teachers, to enable them to teach primary school aged children about the importance of woodlands. Based around the Coed Bryn Oer site in Rhymney, the website needed to contain activities relevant to the National Curriculum.
The full specification included onscreen information sections; The History of Coed Bryn Oer, Trees and the Environment, Woodland Ecology, Environmental Art, The Uses of Wood and Tree Studies – each containing three further activities.  The site also displayed an interactive map showing the life of the site over 125 years and a multi-page problem solving activity. The database driven site used the ODIN CMS system, a custom made content management system and admin panel allowing the content of the website to be changed through an easily accessible word-like HTML editor, automatically updating navigation and content throughout the site.
Savage and Gray Design worked closely with a number of key participants and decision makers at Caerphilly County Council to create the website.
