Festival News: Exploring new worlds…
This month we unveil our marketing campaign for the British Science Festival 2011, the biggest and most established science festival in the UK, which opens this weekend in Bradford, and runs all week from the 10th to the 15th of September.
From atoms to apps, forensics to physics, cold dark matter to astrobiology (life in other worlds), superbugs to circus science – there is a wealth of worlds waiting for visitors to explore. You can also meet the fertility expert Robert Winston, the world’s greatest living explorer Ranulph Fiennes and the decade’s outstanding competitive sailor, Ellen MacArthur.
From the Cardiff office Director Tim Savage said: “this years theme ‘exploring new worlds’ gave us a wonderful starting point for the creative. Our adventure began by researching classic adventurer’s map styles, from ‘Boys Own’ adventures to 40’s classic serials illustration. Our ‘discovery map’ creates a fun world the viewer can engage with and explore, expanding audiences and attracting people who may not have otherwise thought about attending a science festival.”
Marketing collateral has been rolled out, including a young people’s programme, main festival brochure, miniguide, adshell posters, bus sides, leaflets, bookmarks, website, and festival App.
